Hello, I'm Ranajit Dam

I am a managing editor and content strategist based in Singapore with hands-on experience leading AI-powered editorial transformation at scale.

About Me

A lawyer turned journalist and editor, I have worked across four countries — India, the US, China, and Singapore — covering technology, business, law, and lifestyle along the way. I currently lead editorial at Thomson Reuters’ Media Group in APAC. Recently, I have been focusing on building and restructuring content operations using AI tools, and seen first-hand how a small, resource-constrained team can produce at a level that previously required a much larger one.

Content strategy for the AI era

Most content teams are sitting on more capability than they realise. The constraint was never ideas or talent; it was time, bandwidth, and resources. AI changes that equation, and I am focused on what happens when strong editorial instincts meet AI, and what that means for publishers, professional services firms, and anyone who communicates for a living.

I have been working through what this means in practice: Restructuring workflows, redefining editorial roles, and building content strategies that do more with less, all without sacrificing the judgment and voice that make content worth reading in the first place.

I am available for conversations with organisations looking to think this through.

What I Can Do For You

Editorial Strategy & AI Integration

I can help editorial and communications teams find ways to use AI to smooth out workflows and boost your output. This lets your team focus their energy on the creative work that actually requires a human touch.

Content Operations Audit

I’m available to analyze your entire content lifecycle from the first pitch to final distribution. I’ll show you exactly where you're losing time or resources and help you raise the bar on quality.

AI Workflow Design

I can design and implement practical, repeatable AI-assisted processes that hold up under real deadline pressure. These are built around your team's actual needs, not generic best practices.

Editorial Advisory & Fractional Leadership

I can work with publishers and in-house content teams as a strategist or a hands-on collaborator. Whether you need a sounding board for a specific project or a partner on a retained basis, I’m available to help you reach your goals.

Results From The Field

Examples of how I have used AI to deliver specific content outcomes.

These outcomes are drawn from my own editorial work. Organisations and identifying details have been kept deliberately vague.

Press release to published story: from 90 minutes to 20 By introducing AI-assisted first drafts into the news workflow, a medium-sized editorial team cut story turnaround time from one to two hours down to around fifteen to twenty minutes — without reducing editorial standards or byline accountability.

Translation costs: tens of thousands of dollars saved annually Chinese-to-English translation was previously handled by an external vendor. By building AI translation into the editorial process, that dependency was eliminated entirely, freeing up significant budget without any reduction in output volume.

Deeper reporting through AI research AI-driven research changed how the team approached complex, technical subjects — surfacing angles, context, and interview questions that would have taken hours to develop manually. It resulted in coverage that went further into niche topics than the team's bandwidth previously allowed.

Cleaner copy, fewer errors AI took on a consistent copy-editing, proofreading, and fact-checking role across the workflow — reducing errors to a rarity rather than an occasional hazard.

SEO without the extra overhead AI handled tagging and SEO metadata as a natural part of the publishing process, removing a low-value but time-consuming task from the editorial team's plate.
